Happy Thanksgiving break! Hope you all enjoy a fun week with family!

It was wonderful to visit with you all during parent-teacher conferences. I learned a lot and feel enthused about continuing to coach your child on their path of learning. Thank you for your tireless support!







We had a great week and lots of excitement about SNOW!
Maybe someone did a snow dance??!? The Iroquois story, Rabbit's Snow Dance  was about just that: ushering winter in with a drum roll....







Homework:
Thank you for expressing interest and motivation for helping your child with homework. It is a blessing to offer Istation, Lexia and Prodigy Math for home use, but it can make homework feel more "complicated."
Here is a possible schedule to consider. I hope it helps!
10 minutes of paper-and-pencil work (from homework packet)
20 minutes of online work: READING days (on Istation or Lexia) alternating with MATH days (on Istation or Prodigy Math). Please note that the password to Prodigy math is now different. It is tisa (all lowercase letters).
15 minutes of family reading time (and logging books on the reading log)

This week's homework packet went home on Thursday and will be due on Thursday, November 29. For math, please complete work in the math workbook up to page 33 (workbook stays home).











We had a fun Thanksgiving Pizza party in celebration of our jog-a-thon victory! A huge "thank you" goes out to the PTA for the yummy food and their ongoing support! We loved the popcorn and would love Marianne's pumpkin cookie recipe too!

December 2: First day of Advent and Hanukkah. We will be celebrating all festivals of light in their cultural contexts.

December 12: Harwood Museum field trip
December 17: Christmas book exchange -- please send a wrapped book for your Secret Santa friend by this date with a gift tag to avoid confusion. Thank you all who placed a Scholastic order. It's on its way to TISA!
December 20: SmART Festive Thursday on the last day of school before winter break
