I hope everyone had fun last week. We kicked off back-to-school Monday with some snow and hot chocolate! Not a bad combination!
Weather appropriate and indoor clothing
Please note that with the coming of colder, possibly snowy weather, students are asked to have jackets, hats, mittens/gloves in their cubbies. Kiddos are also welcome to bring inside shoes to wear in the classroom, so they can take off their muddy shoes. Every child is asked to have socks on every day.
School Lunches
We have been asked by the office to make sure that if your child is going to be late and usually orders lunch, to give the office a call so they will have a lunch ordered for them. It makes it difficult for the accounting end of the lunch program if we get this information after 8:30am. Thanks for your cooperation in this.
Homework packets are going home on Thursday. For math, please work with your child to complete pages 19-25 from the math workbook.
October 17, 1:10-3:30pm: Field trip to Harwood Museum
October 18: Final Photo Retake day!
October 25, 4-6pm: Annual TISA Lantern Walk (School-wide potluck sign-up will be shared with you as soon as it is available.)
October 25 (Thursday), 2:30pm: Students of the Month
We are celebrating Emma Valdez and Jossen Fahrney in October for their outstanding
academic achievement, focus, and friendship.

October 31: Halloween!
Halloween
Lots of excitement in the air! The children have been asking about our Halloween costumes.
This year we will have a story theme.
Children can be story characters (humans, superheroes, or animals) from books or family movies.
Please do NOT send your child in his/her costume. Have him/her bring the costume in a bag.
We will change into our costumes at school.
Also, please take note: ABSOLUTELY NO scary, gory, or violent items such as any weapon, blood,
fake wounds, or masking please.
Also, we will uphold our NO CANDY policy for Halloween (and the day after). Please do not send
any candy to share on Halloween or the day after. Please monitor your child’s lunch box for those
days. That is where lots of candy sneaks into the class!
Here is the sign-up sheet for healthy treats (more or less : ) for our Halloween party (at 2pm on Oct. 31).
Please sign up in class or send me a message with your pick. The sign-up items are also available on
