Lantern Walk Celebration

Thank you for helping to create a beautiful Lantern Walk with the children!

During this time of year we make lanterns to welcome the dark. The project involves a real wax candle (!) recycled materials and encaustic art. Besides nourishing artistic creativity and community spirit, it also highlights light pollution and energy conservation.

Please take a look at the images here. We hope they will inspire you to turn off electricity
and light your lanterns at home once in a while. Remember, children only light a candle under adult supervision!

Animal migration and reproduction are negatively affected by light pollution.
